End Date: 4/16/2014
Entry Description

Denver – Recently, officers from the Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on State Road 19 near Miami County Road 800 North, which injured a Peru teen.

The preliminary crash investigation by Indiana State Police Sergeant Rick Brown revealed that Brianna MacDonald, 17, Peru, IN, was driving a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound on State Road 19 near Miami County Road 800 North. The Chrysler’s passenger side tires traveled partially off of the eastside of State Road 19. MacDonald overcorrected, causing the Chrysler to spin and travel completely off the eastside of State Road 19. The Chrysler hit a utility pole before rolling onto its top in the roadway. The crash severed the utility pole causing live power lines to fall on the roadway. A Duke Energy crew was called to render the power lines safe so the crash investigation and vehicle removal could be accomplished.

MacDonald was transported by ambulance to Dukes Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. .

MacDonald was issued a citation for allegedly driving with a suspended operator’s license. Neither alcohol nor drug use is believed to be a factor in this crash.

Sgt. Brown was assisted at the crash scene by the Denver Fire Department and Miami County Emergency Management
