RYO Machine Notification - Recently, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a rule issued by the federal government that RYO Retailers are Tobacco Manufacturers and overturned an injunction preventing the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) from treating Retailers with RYO Machines as Tobacco Manufacturers. Any premise found to be in possession of a RYO Machine will be treated as a Manufacturer and enforcement action under the appropriate Indiana Code(s) will be taken against them by the Indiana State Excise Police.
The Alcohol and Tobacco Commission has prepared three Frequently Asked Questions documents to assist the general public and business owners in better understanding Indiana's recently passed smoking ban law, HEA 1149.
