Importation Requirements
Importation permits are must be obtained from the Indiana State Board of Animal Health prior to entering the state for the following species:
BISON/BOVINE: Entry permit must be obtained prior to entering Indiana. Call BOAH Ruminant Division at 317/544-2397 to obtain a permit.
CAMELIDS: Entry permit must be obtained prior to entering Indiana. Call BOAH Ruminant Division at 317/544-2397 to obtain a permit.
CATTLE/BOVINE: Entry permit must be obtained prior to entering Indiana. Call BOAH Ruminant Division at 317/544-2397 to obtain a permit.
CATS/FELINES: Entry permits required if animal originates from an area quarantined because of rabies. Call the BOAH Companion Animal Division at 317/544-2387 to obtain a permit.
DEER, ELK/CERVIDS: Entry permit must be obtained prior to entering Indiana. Call BOAH Ruminant Division at 317/544-2395 to obtain a permit.
DOGS/CANINES: Entry permits required if animal originates from an area quarantined because of rabies. Call the BOAH Companion Animal Division at 317/544-2387 to obtain a permit.
FERRETS: Entry permits required if animal originates from an area quarantined because of rabies. Call the BOAH Companion Animal Division at 317/544-2387 to obtain a permit.
SWINE: Call the BOAH Swine Division at 877/747-3038 to obtain a permit during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. After hours, fax the CVI and cover sheet to 317/974-2011 and it will be processed during business horus. Note: A fax must possess a return fax number.
