Movement of Cervids

1. If not from a TB accredited herd, a negative TB test within 90 days of movement for animals more than one year of age.

2. Two forms of identification, one must be an official, visible tag.

Steel USDA NUES tag, or
840 tag

Secondary ID:
Unofficial ear tag,
Microchip, or
Ear or flank tattoo
Unique tattoo

2013 Interstate Cervid Movement Updates

In 2013, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved new federal rules pertaining to chronic wasting disease and the movement of cervids.  Indiana had to modify current state rules in order to meet the new federal standards.  The following documents provide detailed information on the changes, which took effect July 22, 2013.
