CJI Planning Survey 1999 – Highlights and Findings

CJI’s 1999 Planning Survey was conducted as part of the Institute’s effort to develop and implement statewide strategies for combating drug and violent crime, and preventing or reducing juvenile delinquency.

The Survey was designed to obtain information on local criminal and juvenile justice problems, needs and resources from the perspective of more than 1,500 professionals working in all major components of Indiana's justice system. The sample included justice professionals throughout the state from town marshals and detention center directors to prosecutors, public defenders, and superior court judges. Overall, 73% or 1,135 of the 1,548 people surveyed completed and returned the questionnaire.
