Course Description
This three-day course utilizes the always popular crash reconstruction and trial testimony expert John Kwasnoski and forensic pathologist Dr. Dean Hawley to train more experienced prosecutors and law enforcement officers on the use of crash reconstruction and injury patterns as evidence in the investigation and prosecution of impaired drivers.
This training will focus on the types of evidence that may be present, but frequently overlooked, at the scene of a crash and how to effectively present this information in a courtroom. The TSRP will also provide attendees with a review of applicable appellate court decisions, Indiana statutes and regulations as well as a thorough review of the proper application of the Indiana Implied Consent Law and blood testing as it applies to fatal crashes. This course will precede the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team Summit in April 2008.
The TSRP will provide attendees with a review of current Indiana Appellate Court decisions, statutes and the Indiana Implied Consent law. Professor John Kwasnoski, the popular crash reconstruction expert, will also conduct refresher and advanced reconstruction training for crash team members. Each team attending the Summit will have the opportunity to present an overview of their team’s construction and progress. Additionally, each team will be given an opportunity to review pending or past cases with Professor Kwasnoski.
