ICJI > Other Funding >  > State Victim Clinic Program Grant Solicitation State Victim Clinic Program Grant Solicitation

The National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI), supported with a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, U.S. Department of Justice, is soliciting proposals for establishing crime victim legal clinics to represent crime victims in the state criminal justice system. The purpose of this program is to establish eight state victim clinics to provide direct services to victims of felony and violent crimes. The services will be provided to assist victims in the criminal justice system to ensure victims' rights are complied with and enforced. In 2003, NCVLI anticipates awarding four state site grants to be funded over a 3-year period. In 2004, grants will be awarded to four additional state sites. First year funding for each site will be in the amount of $50,000. Funding for subsequent years will depend on the availability of federal funds to NCVLI and the ability of the sites to successfully complete year one activities. Anticipated funding in years two and three is $100,000 and $75,000, respectively.

Eligible applicants are law schools, stand-alone non-profit organizations, or non-profit organizations affiliated with other non-profits. A non-binding letter of intent is due on Monday, June 16, 2003. Applications are due by 5pm (PDT) on Tuesday, July 15, 2003. Complete information and the application kit can be obtained online at www.lclark.edu/org/ncvli/clinic_grant.html or by contacting Bea Freilich, freilich@lclark.edu or 503-768-6252.
