The Indiana Adoption Program is a statewide initiative to find forever families for Indiana’s foster children. There are 18 Adoption Champions (ACs) located throughout Indiana to help inform the community of the need for adoptive homes and to help identify families for waiting children. There are two types of events offered to the various regions, which include an Adoption Educational Event and Adoption PR Event. Adoption Champions provide educational sessions and material in hopes of recruiting prospective adoptive families. Educational events can include providing information to the residents of various areas, based out of churches, libraries, or local agencies, with a set agenda or power point presentation. The ACs discuss the need for adoption, the type of children waiting to be adopted, special needs of the adoptive children, and the adoption process. Adoption Celebration PR events are located at a booth providing an opportunity for residents from a certain community to gain knowledge on the adoption process and the waiting children. At these events, other vendors' booths that offer information about their program, will be present as well.
See map of region and SNAP Specialist listings.
