The Wildlife Diversity Section (WDS) is responsible for the conservation and management of over 750 species of nongame, endangered, and threatened wildlife in Indiana. The WDS depends on donations from citizens to the Nongame Fund to implement its programs. In addition, the WDS receives reimbursements for expenditures through the State Wildlife Grants program, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The reimbursable expenditures must be used on projects involving Indiana's endangered species which were identified by Indiana’s Comprehensive Wildlife Strategy.
