Events held on any Division of Fish and Wildlife property that involves handling and shooting of firearms will be strictly organized and conducted by responsible, experienced adults. They will be paired with young participants to constantly monitor their actions while they are holding, handling and shooting firearms. They will act as mentors to teach firearm safety and safe hunting practices.

Event: Youth Turkey Workshop
Date: Saturday, March 24, 2012
Time: 9 AM to Noon
Details: The Shelby County Blue River Chapter of the Wild Turkey Federation and Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area will conduct a workshop for existing and potential youth hunters. Participants will learn safety, hunting and calling techniques.  Participants may bring their own calls.  Snacks will be provided.  Interested participants are encouraged to call (812) 526-2051 to register, as space is limited.

Also, participants wishing to listen for gobblers should arrive at 6:00 AM wearing camo clothes, face mask and gloves.
