Wear-It Indiana. Always wear your life jacket.

WEAR IT INDIANA is a public outreach campaign designed to enlighten and encourage the use of personal flotation devices (life jackets) while boaters and swimmers are enjoying Indiana waterways.

Indiana DNR’s Law Enforcement Division is partnering with the National Safe Boating Council, United States Coast Guard and private industry to reach a mass audience. As a part of the campaign, Indiana Conservation Officers will visit popular boat ramps and engage boaters as they launch and recover watercraft.

Matt Howard and Wearit truckThis summer the WEAR IT INDIANA team has joined with Butler University’s Academic All-American basketball star Matt Howard, to encourage people to wear their life jackets. Just as Howard understood his role and contribution to Butler Basketball, Howard understands his influence on the aspiring youth of Indiana. Howard sets the perfect example of wearing a life jacket when these youngsters are in or around the water. Howard hopes that everyone will do it ‘The Butler Way’ and WEAR IT INDIANA!!

By educating the public, WEAR IT INDIANA’s goal is to reduce or eliminate the loss of life from drowning in the Hoosier state.
