Welcome! Thanks for checking out Go FishIN on-LINE.
What is Go FishIN?
Go FishIN is the DNR’s sport fishing education program. The Division of Fish and Wildlife administers the program using Sport Fish Restoration funds.
Go FishIN - Fish for Life
Fishing is a lifetime sport. That’s why our motto is Fish for Life. Go FishIN helps Indiana anglers at every level at every step. Go FishIN promotes, supports, and conducts youth and family fishing events like Free Fishing Weekend programs, Family Learn to Fish workshops, and the State Fair Fishing Pond. Go FishIN is planning to expand the family fishing workshops plus offer advanced fishing opportunities (such as muskie workshops) for anglers that already know the basics.
The core of Go FishIN is the state-wide Crew Captain network. The program offers free Crew Captain workshops for adults (e.g. educators and youth leaders) to learn about fish biology, Indiana's aquatic ecosystems, fish management in Indiana, basic angling skills, and angler ethics. Participants will become Crew Captains and can then take this knowledge and these skills to their classrooms and community. Crew Captains also can receive free educational materials and fishing equipment to implement the program. Schools, 4-H, scouts, park departments, camps, and many other community groups are ideal participants in Go FishIN. Activities can be modified for any age group, any skill level, and any subject.
