The Indiana Department of Labor works with the public to promote safety and health in Hoosier workplaces by offering OSHA compliance assistance services and programs to businesses and organizations through the OSHA Partnership and Alliance Program. These services and programs help organizations and businesses work collaboratively with the Indiana Department of Labor and comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
Through the Alliance Program, the Indiana Department of Labor works with groups committed to worker safety and health, including businesses, trade or professional organizations, unions and educational institutions, to leverage resources and expertise to develop compliance assistance tools and resources and share information with employers and employees to help prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the workplace.
The Strategic Occupational Safety and Health Partnership Program moves away from traditional enforcement methods to embrace collaborative agreements and work cooperatively to address critical safety and health issues.
American Society of Safety Engineers - Central Indiana Chapter
On February 20, 2014 the Indiana Department of Labor entered into a strategic wrker safety and health alliance with the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. The agreement establishes a collaborative relationship to provide both ASSE-CIC members and other employees with information, guidance and training resources to promote workplace safety and health.
On November 07, 2013, the Indiana Department of Labor entered into a strategic worker safety and health alliance with Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis, Indiana. The alliance participants will establish a relationship which works to increase the health and safety of workers in the agriculture and transportation industries by providing information, guidance and access to educational and training resources. The alliance agreement will remain in effect for two years
Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis
On August 28, 2013, the Indiana Department of Labor and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) entered into a strategic worker safety and health alliance with the Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis, Indiana. The alliance participants will establish a collaborative relationship in an effort to provide Mexican Nationals and others in Ohio and Indiana with information, guidance and access to educational and training resources to promote worker safety and health. The alliance agreement will remain in effect for two years.
Indiana-Traffic Incident Managment Effort (IN-TIME)
The Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL) entered into a strategic occupational safety and health alliance with the Indiana-Traffic Incident Management Effort (IN-TIME) IN-TIME works to ensure both the safety of first responders at roadway crashes and the rapid clearing of roadways to return traffic flow to normal as quickly as possible. The IDOL is proud to work with the Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Transportation and all IN-TIME members to maximize the health and safety of all Hoosiers. The alliance was signed on June 10, 2013.
Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association
The Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL) signed an occupational safety and health alliance with Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association (IPCA). Working together, the IDOL and IPCA will provide expertise in the development and dissemination of information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards in late-night retail establishments. The alliance is one of the first of several key objectives established by the Late-night Retail Establishment Working Group. This working group was put into action by IDOL Commissioner Lori Torres in mid-January 2012. The alliance was signed on March 28, 2012 and will remain effective for two years.
Mid-America OSHA Education Center
The Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL) entered into a strategic occupational safety and health training alliance with Mid-America OSHA Education Center of Springboro, Ohio. The alliance allows for Mid-America OSHA Education Center to utilize training and parking facilities to ensure training provided by OSHA Education Center may be conducted in Indiana. The alliance was signed on January 31, 2012 and will remain effective for two years.

The Indiana Builders Association
The Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL), Indiana Builders Association (IBA) and its members agree to work together to achieve an exemplary safety & health culture within the organization and its membership. The original alliance was signed on December 2009. The alliance between IDOL and IBA was first renewed on December 21, 2011 and again on March 17, 2014. The new alliance agreement will remain effective for two years.
Indiana Construction Association (ICA)
To advance the mutual goal of preventing occupational injuries, illnesses and fatalities, the Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL) and the Indiana Construction Association (ICA) entered into a strategic partnership. An objective of the partnership is to increase the number of ICA members who implement effective safety and health programs and provide efficient safety and health training for management, supervisors and employees. The original agreement was signed on October 5, 2006. The agreement was renewed on March 8, 2013.
Metro Indianapolis Coalition for Construction Safety (MICCS)
The goal of the partnership is the advancement of health and safety in the workplace, which encompasses the reduction of the number and severity of injuries and elimination of all fatalities on construction projects in Indiana. The statewide partnership provides an opportunity for MICCS "Certified" contractors who routinely work throughout the state to participate in the partnership without having to enroll in a separate partnership with the Indiana Department of Labor. The agreement was signed in October 2008.
