How do I get 40-hour new miner training?

How much time do I need in the underground mines before I can obtain a miner’s license?

Six months.

When is the certification testing date?

The second Saturday of every new quarter.  These dates are posted at each mine site and are subject to change at any time.

How do I get study material for the certification tests?

Each mine safety department has a CD that can be printed and distributed.

How many active underground mines are in the State of Indiana?

Six(6).
