Don “Blink” McCorkle, Deputy Commissioner of the Bureau of Mines (left), Rod Dilbeck, Gibson Mine Training Supervisor, and Terry Phegley, Equipment Operator at Gibson Mine, each received the Valor Award from the Indiana Mine Rescue Association and Holmes Safety Council. In addition to Blink, Rod and Terry, MSHA officials, Ron Stahlhut and Mike Rennie, also assisted with the recovery and clean up of the June 3, 2008 fatality at the Gibson Mine.
