Career and technical education is critical to the future of Indiana’s economy and preparation of a skilled workforce. Its role in Indiana’s workforce development system is integral to the success of building partnerships, integrating academics and career preparation and providing essential skills and technical proficiencies needed in Indiana’s workplaces.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development-Career and Technical Education (IDWD-CTE) staff provides leadership for state and national education initiatives and provides support for one (1) Governor-appointed board. The IDWD-CTE staff works closely with the Indiana Department of Education and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education to provide a seamless comprehensive educational system.
The Technical Education Training Laboratory is located at 2525 North Shadeland Ave. just off of I-70 and I-465 in the old Western Select complex. Parking for the Training Lab is accessible via the parking lot just north of the Bob Evans that is located on the corner of Western Select Dr and N Shadeland Ave. The Training Lab is located inside the Department of Workforce Development East Side local Office called, Work One.
