Indiana's Unemployment Rate drops to 3.2 percent in May
Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 3.2 percent for May and remains lower than the national rate of 4.3 percent. Indiana’s labor force decreased by 2,062 over the previous month with an 8,946 increase in employment and an 11,008 decrease in unemployment. Indiana Workforce Success Story: Skill UP Indiana! Grants
Indiana needs to fill more than one million jobs over the course of the next ten years. In order to meet that demand of Indiana’s workforce, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development created the Skill UP Indiana! grant program in 2015. Since its modest start two years ago, nearly $19 million in grant funding has been provided to support community partnerships in developing youth and adult education and training opportunities aligning with employer needs.
