The state of Indiana is well into a three-year project to provide 1-foot resolution orthophotograp
hy and elevation data for the entire state of Indiana. The imagery and elevation data is used by numerous state agencies, and is shared with county governments for use in applications such as tax assessment, property management, economic development and flood control analysis. These data are also available to the public via the IndianaMap.
A south-to-north acquisition was performed in 2011 to complete approximately 30 of the 92 counties in the center column of the state. The remaining counties will be flown in 2012 (eastern column) and 2013 (western column). The statewide program also includes new U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) compliant light detection and ranging (LiDAR) elevation data for 82 of the 92 counties.
As an option, additional project partners including counties, cities/towns, and others may buy-up to 6-inch or 3-inch pixel resolutions. Woolpert will produce the optional 6-inch orthoimagery using the above mentioned methodologies. For a 3-inch option the orthoimagery will be produced using the above mentioned methodology, except a film based solution may be used in lieu of a digital camera solution. The 6-inch imagery will be delivered using 2,500’ x 2,500’ tiles and the 3-inch imagery will be delivered using 1,250’ X 1,250’ tiles.
