Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.

Once the Office of the Governor receives notice of resignation, the vacancy notice will be posted to this site. Application materials can be found here.

Current Vacancies

Goshen City Court Judicial Vacancy
The Governor's Office is now accepting applications for Judge of the Goshen City Court, due to the recent resignation of Judge Gretchen Lund. All applications must be completed and returned to the Governor's Office by the close of business on Friday, August 8, 2014. The Governor’s Office is also accepting recommendation letters for this vacancy during this time period.

Ripley Circuit Court Judicial Vacancy
The Governor's Office is now accepting applications for Judge of the Ripley Circuit Court, due to the recent resignation of Judge Carl H. Taul. All applications must be completed and returned to the Governor's Office by the close of business on Friday, September 4, 2014. The Governor’s Office is also accepting recommendation letters for this vacancy during this time period.
