Daniels confident in Colts playoff victory over the RavensJanuary 14, 2010— This morning Governor Daniels accepted, then raised the stakes for a friendly gubernatorial wager with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley on Saturday night's second round AFC division playoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. In addition to state-produced food fare, Daniels raised the wager by suggesting that the "losing" governor display the opposing teams’ car flag on his gubernatorial vehicle for the following week. O'Malley accepted. "The people who run their stadium seem to have trouble showing the Colts proper respect, so I thought maybe I could enlist the governor to set a good example," said Daniels. For his part, Governor Daniels is offering an old fashioned sugar cream pie from Wick’s Pies, Inc. in Winchester and shrimp cocktail from St. Elmo’s Steak House. O’Malley is offering Maryland Smith Island Cake and crab cakes. Governor Daniels discussed the wager on WFNI 1070 AM earlier today, check it out here: http://www.in.gov/gov/files/Audio/011410_WFNI.mp3 Daniels remembers Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.January 14, 2010— Governor Daniels spoke this afternoon at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Employee Holiday Celebration in the North Atrium of the State House.
