Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.

Once the Office of the Governor receives notice of resignation, the vacancy notice will be posted to this site. Application materials can be downloaded here.

Current Vacancies

Marion Superior Court Judicial Vacancy

The Governor’s Office is now accepting applications for Judge of the Marion Superior Court, due to the recent appointment of Judge Robyn L. Moberly. All applications must be completed and returned to the Governor’s Office by the close of business on Friday, November 30th, 2012. The Governor’s Office is also accepting recommendation letters for this vacancy during this time period.

Vanderburgh Superior Court Judicial Vacancy

The Governor’s Office is now accepting applications for Judge of the Vanderburgh Superior Court, due to the recent vacancy of Judge Kiely. All applications must be completed and returned to the Governor’s Office by the close of business on Friday, December 7th, 2012. The Governor’s Office is also accepting recommendation letters for this vacancy during this time period.
