INDIANAPOLIS - First Lady Cheri Daniels will visit the Habitat for Humanity Mother's Build site located at 1617 Ingram Street on Friday, April 27, at 12:30 p.m. The home will be completed for a single mom and her three children on May 12, just in time for Mother's Day.

Daniels will meet the Habitat homeowner, volunteers, and sponsors of the build. This year, Daniels helped promote the 2nd Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis Mother's Build by appearing in a public service announcement on WISH TV with reporter Gene Rodriguez.

Daniels also will promote Heart to Heart, her heart health campaign, which encourages Hoosier Women to pledge to lead heart healthy lives. This onsite promotion coincides with Clarian Health, a home build sponsor. Clarian Health will conduct blood pressure screenings for all interested volunteers at the site.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis is committed to eliminating poverty housing and making home ownership available to very low-income families, most of whom have children and live in unsafe, overcrowded or substandard conditions.
Each qualified low-income family must meet Habitat's income and credit history criteria, as well as agree to invest 300 hours in budget education classes and assist with the building of their own home. Each family must also make monthly mortgage payments with a no-interest loan.
