Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers Food Drive

During the month of February, Indiana state employees participated in the Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers food drive to benefit Indiana residents in need. This annual food drive is sponsored by the Office of First Lady Cheri Daniels.

Central Indiana donations benefited Gleaners Food Bank, while agencies throughout the state worked with area food banks. This year, over 60 agencies and 261 divisions collected more than 118,100 non-perishable items and $19,000 to benefit Hoosiers in need. Over the past four years, more than 364,800 items and $38,230 have been collected for regional food banks.

The signature event for the Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers food drive is IndiCANa, a structure building competition with cans. This event was held on Monday, February 27, in the Indiana Government Center South atrium. This year, the team from the State Budget Agency took top honors.
