The eighth annual Heartland Walk for Health took place on August 11, 2012 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Hundreds of Hoosiers joined me for a two-mile walk with the goal of increasing awareness about heart health.
With informative speakers, free health screenings and the opportunity to sign a pledge to live a heart-healthy life, I am confident that attendees received valuable recommendations on how to make a positive impact on their health and the health of their families and friends.
Even though this year’s walk has concluded, the fight against heart disease continues. I encourage all Hoosiers to eat a balanced diet, participate in daily physical activity, avoid tobacco and consider having a Heart to Heart conversation with the ones you love.
Thank you for helping make Indiana a more heart-healthy state.
Warm regards,
Sincerely,
Cheri Daniels
First Lady of Indiana
