First Lady Cheri Daniels completed her ninth assignment for Cheri's Chores with the help of the Decatur Township Station 71- Valley Mills' firefighters
First Lady Cheri Daniels was greeted at her ninth chore by 97.1 HANK FM listener and firefighter, Brad, who suggested this assignment.
Wank & O'Brien introduced Mrs. Daniels to her instructor for the day, Lieutenant Chris Stephens.
Lt. Stephens gave Mrs. Daniels a tour of the fire house and showed her some of the tools that the firefighters use.
The first lady was taught how to properly suit up for a fire rescue.
Once the first lady was in full firefighter gear, Lt. Stephens showed her a few of the crew’s larger rescue tools.
With the help of Decatur Township Station 71 firefighters, Mrs. Daniels operates a high-pressure fire house.
After learning how to extinguish a fire, the first lady rode in one of the station's fire rescue vehicles.

The first lady relaxed in the fire station’s lounge after finishing her assignment.
After learning more about the job, Mrs. Daniels has a new understanding and appreciation for all that firefighters do. She extends her sincere gratitude to the men and women in public service who put their lives at risk on a daily basis for others.
