Assignment 10: Serve as a Second Helpings volunteer

First Lady Cheri Daniels completed her tenth assignment with the help of the staff at United Way Central Indiana, Second Helpings and Horizon House.

Mrs. Daniels was greeted at her tenth assignment by HANK FM's Wank & O'Brien, 97.1 FM listener Shannon of United Way, and the CEO of Second Helpings, Cindy Hubert.

The first lady's assignment for the day involved volunteering at Second Helpings. Second Helpings is a United Way agency that rescues prepared and perishable food, turns it into nutritious meals and distributes those meals to over fifty local social service organizations.

Mrs. Daniels started her assignment with a tour of Second Helpings' facilities.

After the tour, the first lady received her official uniform for the day.

First Lady Cheri Daniels joined other kitchen volunteers to prepare meals for the thousands of hungry children and adults that Second Helpings serve each day. Mrs. Daniels was responsible for dicing potatoes.
