Assignment: Learn how make an ice sculpture
Status: Completed!
First Lady Cheri Daniels was greeted at her 23rd assignment by Randy Finch from the Food Network’s Ice Brigade and Dave O’Brien from HANK FM.
Mrs. Daniels learned about the different tools that are used to create ice sculptures.
First Lady Cheri Daniels shaved and sanded the rough corners of the sculpture to create rounded edges.
After learning how to utilize a blow torch for ice sculpting, Mrs. Daniels smoothed out the sculpture.
The final step of the project involved ironing the ice to make the appearance of the sculpture less cloudy.
Mrs. Daniels enjoyed assisting in the creation of a New York Giants’ helmet that was displayed in Super Bowl Village.
First Lady Cheri Daniels would like to thank “ice gurus” Randy Finch and Derek Maxfield and the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee for their involvement with this assignment. For further information about the Food Network’s Ice Brigade, visit http://www.iceguru.com./.
