In April 2011, the Indiana Civil Rights Commission announced their Power of Diveristy statewide series. These workshops, targeted at providers, involve training throughout the state in an effort to prevent discrimination from occuring and highlight the importance of diversity in schools, the workplace and in neighborhoods.

These workshops are targeted at landlords, property managers, housing authorities, human resource professionals, employers and other interested residents throughout the state. These workshops are free of charge and many provide Continuing Education Units (CEU's). Space is limited, so reserve your seat today by calling (317) 232-2651.

More than 80 people were in attendance Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Council Chambers at Bloomington's City Hall in Bloomington, Ind. for a fair housing training, equal employment workshop and Continuing Legal Education seminar.

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, the Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) is traveling throughout the state to provide fair housing training, equal employment workshops and Continuing Legal Education seminars for landlords, property managers, housing authorities, human resource professionals, employers, the business community and the general public. The series, titled The Power of Diversity, is free to attend and led by local, state and nationally acclaimed presenters.

The Indiana Civil Rights Commission, working in collaboration with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, hosted a conference titled Navigating the Changing Landscape in Housing, Education and Employment. The more than 200 in attendance participated in housing and employment workshops, a Continuing Legal Education seminar, an education roundtable, and a lunch panel discussion focused on preparing our young people for the changing job market.

The conference focused on providing fair housing for individuals with disabilities and advocating for independent living.
