Welcome to the education Web page, where you'll find ideas for educating students and working together to improve the environment we share. From lesson plans to tips for healthier classrooms, these links are designed for educators and administrators but will be useful for anyone interested in environmental education.
IDEM is committed to educating Indiana's children and adults on environmental issues by providing programs and information designed to bring environmental education to you, the educator! IDEM recognizes environmental education is not designed to eliminate the need for regulation. However, it costs much less to teach people how to prevent environmental problems than it does to clean up those problems!
- GreenSteps
- School teachers, janitors and school administrators share a common goal: they work every day to provide a healthy learning environment for Hoosier kids. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management designed the GreenSteps program especially for them. GreenSteps helps schools maintain a quality learning environment, prevent illness, and decrease absence. GreenSteps provides useful "tools" to minimize and eliminate environmental health concerns in the classroom, school building and around the school grounds.
- Indiana's Environment and You
- Indiana's Environment and You will help teach students their role in the environment and how their choices impact them, their community and all of Indiana.
- Presentations
