IDEM has four Public Information Officers (PIOs) to respond to media questions and interview requests. Just find the topic of your question/request below and contact the appropriate PIO. If you cannot find an appropriate topic, please call (317) 233-4927.

Air Quality - (317) 232-8499

Permits, ozone, fine particulate matter (PM2.5), ambient air monitoring, air toxics, open burning, national health standard attainment/nonattainment, rulemaking, asbestos, lead and vehicle inspection.

Land Quality - (317) 233-4927

Solid waste (including landfills and transfer stations), clean-up sites, environmental emergencies (including spills), salvage yards, industrial waste, hazardous waste (treatment, storage or disposal), waste tires, illegal open dumps, confined feeding facilities, permits, inspections, enforcement and rules.

Pollution Prevention and Technical Assistance - (317) 232-8596

Grand Calumet Feasibility Study, voluntary pollution prevention (including awards and incentive programs, recycling programs and grants and environmental education) and small business technical assistance (including confidential and technical compliance assistance for small businesses and toxic release inventory).

Water Quality - (317) 232-8512

Drinking water, municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater, sewer overflows, water quality in Indiana's rivers and lakes, wetlands, regional sewer districts, watershed management, groundwater, water violations and enforcement.
