Software Installation

Please read all the instructions below before performing them in order. You may want to print this for easy reference. Follow these instructions for each workstation that is to have Satellite i-STEPS installed.

Important: To avoid the loss of data when re-installing the software please copy the i-sat5\data folder (usually found on the C:\ Drive) to another location (My Documents or some other folder). When finished installing the software copy the folder back, replacing the data folder and all the files. Removing the program and re-installing without following those instructions will result in loss of data.

  1. Create a directory on your computer such as c:\i5temp.
  2. Click here to download SATELLIT.exe [EXE - 9.8MB] into c:\i5temp.
  3. From c:\i5temp run SATELLIT.exe.
  4. If the Microsoft Installer has not previously been installed on the system then you will be prompted to let the machine reboot at this time.
  5. Follow the prompts to install Satellite 5.0.
  6. When asked to select a Destination Folder, we recommend you install 5.0 Satellite to c:\i-sat5. DO NOT use a directory name that contains spaces or any more than eight (8) characters. The default selection is preferable.
  7. If you choose a folder other than the default, at the end of the install you will be prompted to select the directory where you installed Satellite.
  8. Copy the SATELLIT.exe file somewhere for safekeeping. You may remove the c:\i5temp directory at this time.

Log into the Satellite i-STEPS

  1. Run and log in using the username "SAT".
  2. Complete the login by typing in the password "LAUNCH".
