The Office of Air Quality collects and compiles emissions data for compliance, billing and planning. The IDEM Office of Air Quality (OAQ) uses the Satellite i-STEPS program as the primary method of reporting emissions. The version of the Satellite software available to Indiana sources is compatible with Microsoft Windows. OAQ requires all sources to submit their emissions on either the i-STEPS program on on OAQ provided hardcopy forms.
Satellite i-STEPS Infinity is designed by Pacific Environmental Services, Inc. (PES). The Satellite program makes reporting annual air emissions simple and puts all the data into acceptable formats for local, state and federal agencies. The reported emissions are used to determine compliance, for Title V billing purposes and for technical purposes such as modeling, redesignations, and rulemaking. Accurate emissions data is important for future program development by OAQ.
