IDEM has compiled the following list of links to help individuals, groups, schools, communities and businesses get involved in our own local programs and find useful information from around the country.
Around Indiana
- Hoosiers Care is a statewide campaign designed to teach Hoosiers about simple daily actions that they can take to save money and the environment. Each simple step you take can help improve air and water quality; conserve water and energy; and, reduce waste. Each person’s individual actions can add up to make a large, positive environmental change for Indiana’s environment... All it takes is the first simple step of taking the Hoosier Care Pledge.
- IDEM’s Smogwatch Web site provides air quality forecasts for each day. To sign up for e-mail notices about local air quality, click on your region on the state map.
- Saint Joseph/Elkhart area residents can visit the Michiana Area Council of Governments for information about its Clean Air Program, Ridesharing Program and Partners for Clean Air program.
- Fort Wayne-Allen County residents can visit the Clean Air Force Web site for information about local clean air programs.
- Information is provided online about the Knozone program in Central Indiana and the Central Indiana Clean Air Partnership.
- IDEM’s Partners for Clean Air is a coalition of Northwest Indiana and Chicago area businesses, industry, and community groups committed to improving air quality through voluntary actions.
- Visit the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) Web page to learn about clean air efforts in northwest Indiana, including public education through the NIRPC Clean Air Campaign.
- Visit the KAIRE Web site for information on the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District’s community outreach and education program for the Louisville metro area.
- The Evansville Environmental Protection Agency coordinates with IDEM and AIRNow to provide local residents with air quality forecasts and alerts.
