Commissioner's Welcome
On behalf of the almost 7,500 Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) employees, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. Indeed, the IDOC is a statewide organization, comprised of 21 adult facilities, 6 juvenile facilities, 9 parole districts, 74 community corrections counties, a central administrative office, and countless community partnerships. Even though the reach is far and wide, each small part of the Department is committed to the main tenets of our mission: to increase public safety and reduce recidivism.
If you are looking for recent news on the Department, statistical data, or facility information, I trust that the IDOC’s website contains the most current and comprehensive information. In addition, the links to the offender locator, IDOC Most Wanted, and sex offender registry pages provide a gateway to information on the populations we serve. More and more, the IDOC’s website grows as a key source on a variety of information regarding corrections in Indiana, and we will continually strive to improve and expand upon it as time progresses.
To achieve this goal, I have actively encouraged the sharing of thoughts and ideas since becoming Commissioner.
