Reporting Administrative or Criminal Actions

Administrative Action

Under IC 27-1-15.6-17(a) or IC 27-1-28-22(a), an insurance producer or adjuster must report any administrative action taken against the producer or adjuster in another jurisdiction or by another governmental agency in Indiana not more than thirty (30) days after the final disposition of the matter. The report shall include a copy of the order or consent order, and any other relevant documentation.

Criminal Action

Under IC 27-1-15.6-17(b), not more than thirty (30) days after an initial pretrial hearing date, an insurance producer shall report any criminal prosecution of the producer initiated in any jurisdiction. The report shall include a copy of the initial complaint filed, the order resulting from the hearing, and any other relevant documentation.

Under IC 27-1-28-22(b), not more than thirty (30) days after the final disposition of the matter, an insurance adjuster shall report any criminal action taken against the adjuster in another jurisdiction or by another governmental agency in Indiana. The report must include a copy of the initial complaint filed, the final order issued by the court, and any other relevant documentation.

Reports of administrative or criminal actions against producers or adjusters can be submitted either electronically through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) at www.nipr.com/licensing, or by mailing all paper documents to the Department at:
