On July 21, 2008, the Indiana Department of Administration and Indiana State Police, at the recommendation of the State's Counter-Terrorism and Security Council, will implement secured entry at the Indiana Government Center's North and South buildings.  Secured entry includes the enforcement of weapons restrictions and implementation of designated public entrances at both North and South buildings.  Public entrances to Indiana Government Center will be as follows:  South Building - 302 West Washington Street (the eastern-most Washington Street Entrance)    North Building - Robert D Orr Plaza (the center set of doors located in the middle of the two buildings).  The entrances will be equipped with metal detectors and screening devices that are monitored by Indiana State Police Capitol Police.  Additional directional signage will be outside of both North and South buildings.

 

Address/Directions

The Indiana Education Employment Relations Board is located in downtown Indianapolis in the Indiana Government Center complex. The office is on the tenth floor of the Indiana Government Center North (accessible via the West Elevators). Our address is 100 North Senate, Room 1049, Indianapolis, IN 46204-2211.

Highway Directions

From the north:
Take I 65 south. Follow signs for Indiana Government Center. Exit on West Street and go south. Turn left on New York Street. The Senate Avenue parking garage is on the right. Enter the garage through the New York Street Entrance and proceed to the lane that has an attendant booth. Tell the attendant that you are visiting a state agency in the Government Center. If for some reason parking is not available in the New York Street garage, the attendant can assist you in securing parking in another State parking area, or use this map of parking in downtown Indianapolis .

From the south:
Take I 65 north to I 70 west. Follow signs for Indiana Government Center. Exit on West Street and go north. Turn right on New York Street. The Senate Avenue parking garage is on the right. Enter the garage through the New York Street Entrance and proceed to the lane that has an attendant booth. Tell the attendant that you are visiting a state agency in the Government Center. If for some reason parking is not available in the New York Street garage, the attendant can assist you in securing parking in another State parking area, or use this map of parking in downtown Indianapolis .

From the east via I 70:

Tell the attendant that you are visiting a state agency in the Government Center. From the west via I 70:

Parking

The closest parking to the Government Center North is the Senate Avenue Parking Garage. Directions to the garage can be found in the Address/Directions page of this site.

Enter the garage through the New York Street Entrance and proceed to the lane that has an attendant booth. Tell the attendant that you are visiting a state agency in the Government Center. If for some reason parking is not available in the New York Street garage, the attendant can assist you in securing parking in another State parking area.

Public parking is often not available in the Government Center garages during legislative sessions; during these times, the map of public parking in downtown Indianapolis may prove useful.
