The IFA's Environmental Programs, which consist of the State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Programs and the Indiana Brownfields Program, continuously seek ways to stay on the forefront of national financial and environmental trends and meet Governor Daniels' priority to attract new businesses, create more jobs, and improve the health of Hoosiers. Incorporating sustainability into the SRF Loan Programs and Indiana Brownfields Program is a natural outgrowth of this goal. In Indiana and across the country, redevelopment professionals have been discovering the numerous benefits of sustainable redevelopment and green building practices, including increased profitability, more efficient use of resources, and improvements in the general well-being of the community. This Web page will highlight the Indiana communities already benefiting from sustainable redevelopment practices, as well as provide resources to help guide and encourage others to incorporate sustainability into their wastewater and drinking water infrastructure improvement projects.
The SRF is pleased to offer the SRF Sustainable Infrastructure / Green Initiatives (SI/GI) Incentive Program, which encourages SRF Loan Program projects to reduce resource consumption – resources such as energy, water, and construction materials - thereby improving efficiency and saving costs.
The purpose of the SRF SI/GI Incentive is to encourage SRF Loan Program Participants to incorporate SI/GI components into their SRF Drinking Water and/or Wastewater projects by (1) offering an interest rate break of up to 0.5 percent to help offset the cost of the component, and (2) giving priority to these projects through bonus points on the SRF Loan Program Project Rank and Score.
