Community Development Block Grant
The Community Development Building Grant (CDBG) is ideal for local governments seeking to provide special housing for farm worker housing, repair to owner-occupied homes, as well as rehabilitating existing homes and rental units in their community. Through the Strategic Investment Process, IHCDA may provide successful applicants with grants, to help finance their development. Developments funded with CDBG funds have strict requirements on rent controls, income eligibility of tenants, housing development costs and long-term affordability requirements.
NEW - All requests for any activity eligible under the CDBG and CDBG-D programs will now be required to submit proposals via IHCDA's new Strategic Investment Process. This process focuses investment efforts towards one or more of four strategic investment priorities as the basis for consideration. CDBG Supplemental Disaster Recovery Funding
CDBG Supplemental Disaster Recovery funding provides grants and/or loans for owner-occupied rehabilitation and multi-family housing in eligible counties. Projects that have received assistance from FEMA are not eligible for this program. In addition to Local Units of Government, not-for-profit and for-profit entities are eligible to receive CDBG-D funding.
