The Waterloo Marshal's Department is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Marshal. Position includes numerous responsibilities including patrol, crime investigations, community relations, enforcement of Indiana laws and Town ordinances. The Peru Police Department will be conducting a hiring process August 5, 2017 at 8:00 am. Marian University is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Campus Police Officer position. The Campus Police Officer has general police powers, and has the same common law and statutory powers, privileges and immunities as sheriffs and constables. The Campus Police Officer is responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws serving to protect life, primarily, and property secondarily.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Merit Deputy. Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment, a High School or GED graduate, possess a valid Indiana driver's license within 60 days of appointment, be able to pass a written and physical test, a polygraph examination, as well as a background investigation. Applicants must not have a felony conviction or a misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence. First year probation officers will earn $47,724 per year with a 48-month salary of $54,454 and a take home vehicle after completion of training.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Reserve Deputy Sheriff. The Reserve Division is a group of unpaid volunteers empowered to assist full-time Sheriff’s Office staff with upholding the law and preserving peace. Road Qualified Reserves perform patrol duties similar to Merit Deputies in addition to special details such as court services, charity events, festivals, inmate security, and other assignments. Reserves are expected to work a minimum of 24 hours each month, mostly supplementing the Patrol Division, in addition to regular training.

The Rockport Police Department is currently taking applications for a Full-Time Police Officer to create a potential hiring pool for this year. The South Bend Police Department is currently taking applications for Patrol Officers. Starting pay for a SBPD Recruit is $46,229.00. Once the recruit completes ILEA he/she will then be sworn in as a Patrolman 2nd Class and the pay will be $51,000.00. After one year of service at a patrolman 2nd class the officer will promoted to a Patrolman 1st class and the pay will be $56,861.00. In addition to the base pay the SBPD offers shift incentives ( afternoons $2,500.00 and midnights $3,500.00 a year), education/ military incentive, uniform allowance, take home cars and longevity pay.
