INDOT Mission

INDOT will plan, build, maintain and operate a superior transportation system enhancing safety, mobility, and economic growth.

INDOT Goals

1. Let an estimated 269 INDOT construction contracts valued at approximately $1.3B by December 31, 2012. Projects to be let include 59 Major New Projects valued at approximately $864MM and 210 Preservation Projects valued at approximately $463MM.

2. Operate, maintain, and preserve INDOT's existing roadways and bridges. Actively manage cost-effective and innovative agency actions to ensure INDOT's pavement, bridge condition, and traffic safety ratings are sustained.

3. Vigorously communicate INDOT's mission and values to employees, partners, and customers. Utilize innovative methods to create and sustain the awareness of INDOT's mission and values to engage employees and provide a positive work environment.

4. Organize and manage INDOT's workforce to successfully achieve INDOT's mission utilizing the performance management process to communicate employee expectations by February 29, 2012, identify employee development opportunities and recognize/reward outstanding performers.

5. Develop and execute a strategic implementation plan to utilize innovation funding solutions (P3 partnerships, tolling, etc...) to meet the strategic needs of INDOT capital program. The plan will include outreach and education to stakeholders regarding INDOT's long-term capital program requirements and the revenues necessary to meet and sustain a quality surface transportation system to support enhanced economic development.
