INDOT, like most businesses and government agencies, is faced with limited resources in a time of increasing needs. As Indiana's population grows and automobile ownership ratios continue to increase, it is incumbent upon INDOT to identify and promote projects which optimize the expenditure of funds. This can be accomplished by systematically analyzing each Major New Capacity project and making data driven decisions to enhance the state’s transportation network. To these ends, INDOT has formed the INDOT Planning and Oversight Committee (IPOC) which operates under the Protocols & Policies contained on this website.
