INDOT is a national leader in the research, design, construction, maintenance, and management of transportation infrastructure. From project design, excellence in planning, and engineering achievement, INDOT has been hailed by national and international trade and professional organizations as an innovative leader in transportation infrastructure.

In just the past year, INDOT has been honored for its work on projects like the Sherman Minton Bridge repair, Accelerate 465, the Milton-Madison Bridge project, and the State Road 32/38 roundabout. Innovative INDOT programs like DamageWise, use of alternative fuel vehicles, and Hoosier Helpers motorist assistance also have been singled out as national models.
