The Division of Bridges is responsible for new, replacement and rehabilitated bridge designs, hydraulic designs, the development and maintenance of bridge standards and policies, and bridge inspection.

There are more than 18,900 bridges in Indiana. INDOT owns and maintains more than 5,600 of these bridges, with a total surface area of more than 50 million square feet.
