INDOT is currently in the process of improving State Road 205 in Columbia City in Whitney County. The project extends from U.S. 30 to one-half mile south of U.S. 30 in Columbia City. State Road 205 is the gateway to Columbia City and has experienced growth from numerous sectors of the community. The planned improvement, a federally funded local public agency project, has been 10 years in the making and was brought to fruition by Columbia City officials, INDOT, American Structurepoint, and Parkview Whitley Hospital.
The project includes auxiliary turn lanes, sidewalks, storm sewer, curb and gutter, street lighting, as well as pavement markings. It will also address future traffic demands of the area.
