Aug 11-15, 2014 Communication Unit Technician (COMT) Vincennes University, Jasper Campus, 850 College Avenue, Jasper, IN, 47546 Attendees will learn essential core competencies required for performing the duties of the Communicatons Unit Technician (COMT) in an all-hazards incident.

Travel and Lodging: Not covered
This course is five days long and is limited to 16 students

Sept. 6-7, 2014 Auxiliary Communications (AUXCOMM) Princeton Fire Territory Station, 500 N. Embree, Princeton, IN 47670 This class is designed for those auxiliary emergency communicators and groups who volunteer to provide backup emergency radio communications support to public safety agencies. Typically, this includes amateur radio and Radio Emergency Associated Communications Team (REACT) communicators, but may include other volunteer emergency communicators.

This course is two days long and is limited to 30 students

Get a better understanding of how the State 800 System works! Topics include recommended programming of channels for mutual aid and 800 MHz nomenclature as compared to VHF or UHF.

The class is FREE! Who should attend? ANYONE who uses the 800 MHz radio system, including but not limited to Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, EMS Departments, 911 Centers and Hospitals.

*The instructor is ILEA certified, so any law enforcement officer can receive In-Service hours for attending. Seating is limited please reply if you are attending with the name and agency of who is attending to: ema@jacksoncounty.in.gov
