Indiana's 4.3 million acres of high-quality hardwoods contribute greatly to the state's economy. Indiana currently ranks first nationally in the manufacture of wood office furniture. Our hardwoods and forest-based businesses are the fourth largest manufacturing sector by employment in the state.
ISDA seeks to continue increasing Indiana's competitiveness in the hardwood industry through trade missions and consumer awareness. Indiana's hardwoods manufacturing companies are positioned to be competitive nationally and internationally, securing existing hardwoods manufacturing jobs and local demand for the state's high-quality timber.
