Use the suggestions below as general guidelines for planning a successful event. Please note this list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Our event planners can personally assist you in coordinating an exceptional event.
|
- Start planning early (at least six months in advance).
- Make a checklist so that you have a step-by-step guide to organizing and executing your event.
- Create a budget that includes expenses and revenue (if applicable).
- Decide on the most appropriate speaker or entertainer.
- Don’t forget to plan ahead for any audiovisual equipment that may be needed.
- If the occasion calls for a toast, be sure to have one prepared ahead of time.
- Be prepared for some of your guests to arrive early. They’re obviously eager to be there, so make them feel welcome!
- For the perfect floral decoration, your florist will need to know a few things about your event. Be sure to give details on the type and mood of the event, any color preferences, and any special weather circumstances. Flowers are fragile, so let the florist know if the event is outdoors!
- Don’t forget to give the photographer a list of shots you want taken. Assign someone to assist the photographer by pointing out people to be included in photos.
- Consider providing your guests with disposable cameras for a more personal record of your event.
- Notify the DJ or band in advance if there are any songs you do not want them to play. It’s best to plan ahead so your evening won’t be spoiled by embarrassing lyrics.
- Provide the DJ or band with a list of songs that you would like to have played during the event.
