2008 will mark the 70th anniversary of the purchase of Angel Mounds State Historic Site.  The year will be full of commemorative events highlighting the contributions of Eli Lilly and Glenn Black to the site and to the science of archaeology.

In May, Indiana University will conduct an archaeological field school at the site, continuing a long history of excavations at the Angel Mounds property.  Angel Mounds State Historic Site: "Celebrating 70 years of Discovery."

Shelley Long, TV and film actress, was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on August 23, 1949. She is best known for her role as Diane on TV’s "Cheers."
