Directions: From I-64 East, take exit 123, New Albany. Go two blocks and turn left onto Main Street at the stop light. Proceed on Main to 914. The Mansion is on the right.

From I-64 West, take exit 123, New Albany. At second stop light and turn right onto State St. Go to Main St. and turn left. Proceed on Main to 914.

Description: In 1867, William S. Culbertson spent about $120,000 to build his grand home in New Albany. Visitors to the Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site will learn more about the life and times of this successful businessman and philanthropist.

According to the 1800 census, 5,641 people were living in the Indiana Territory at the beginning of the 19th century.
