Directions: The Ernie Pyle State Historic Site is located 1 mile north of U.S. Highway 36 on Indiana State Road 71. 

Description: This State Historic Site includes the house from the farm where Ernie Pyle, historic World War II reporter, was born and a state-of-the-art visitor center.  The Historic House was moved from its original rural location to its present location in Dana.  Visitors will learn about this daring and respected Hoosier reporter.

Indiana’s oldest county is Knox, created in 1790 to include all of what is now Indiana and parts of Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin.
